What is wrong with healing?
Years ago when I first got involved with healing training it was all quite new, relatively speaking, although healing in some forms goes back to the beginning of time.
This article has really been inspired by many conversations over many months and being involved with many websites and social networks online, what worries me is the number of healers is rising and the number of people requiring healing remains similar to that of a few years ago, so is everybody more healthy?
There are a lot of new people out there that although like the idea of receiving healing but have never done so, my research reveals there are a couple of main reasons for this, firstly healing is quite a personal modality and many people are initially worried about what might happen or say they don’t know anyone that does it, secondly they don’t feel that their health is bad enough to justify worrying a healer with it, after all, you don’t go to a doctor when you feel fine.
Both of the above points although valid are so far removed as to what healing is about that people avoid healing on a large scale.
Ok, let’s look at these points first.
Those that worry about what might happen are usually those that have never been to a healing session or believe it to be a religious practice of some sort so avoid the idea, some have thought about it and mentioned it to friends who convince them it’s a waste of time therefore they also believe it to be a waste of time rather than find out more.
Out of dozens of people I have spoken to that have had some form of healing, most have not even been aware of anything during the session other than a sense of calm and peace, some even fall asleep they are so relaxed.
As for knowing a healer, many spiritual centres have healing nights all over the UK and across the world no doubt but again people feel that turning up to one of these is scary and unfamiliar, most centres do have other events and evenings what you can attend and get to know the people there first and meet the healers and as with all things in life once you know someone you feel far more comfortable in that place or with that person, most healing is free and all they ask is a donation.
There are many forms of healing now so there is something to suit everybody, my own belief is you don’t need to believe in anything to receive healing, in fact, you don’t even need to believe it will work, it still will.
The second point above is people feeling they are not ill enough to go to a healer, this, I think is one of the biggest misconceptions of what healing is all about.
Feeling ill whether it’s just aches and pains of something more is the outcome of something else being wrong and is our bodies alarms bells saying something is up, pain is also a warning from the body that something is wrong.
Healing works on many levels and can stop many things even occurring by healing on other levels, and can even lessen effects of things that may occur in the future, so I don’t believe you should just be visiting a healer when your ill but should be doing so regularly anyway, below are some examples of my experiences with healing.
The following is either my personal experiences or feedback from clients I have treated.
My own Reiki training started in 2006, so by no means am I as experienced as some but one thing I was taught was self healing is part of what one must do, this said I still enjoy someone else doing it for me and have many types of healing practiced on me.
Back in 2007 I had a heart attack and although this was confirmed by the hospital I thought it was no more than ingestion, and had to be talked into going to the hospital in the first place, I was in and out in a week and had more reaction to the tablets they gave me than the whole incident put together, I did actually stop taking them and improved quickly after, I don’t of course condone this action for anybody else but it worked for me, and to this day have never looked back.
I have noticed that cuts, bruises and grazes heal faster than they used to even though I get older, I’m used to these types of small injuries at it goes with the physical job I do.
A few years ago when my daughter was younger she fell off of a swing and grazed her side, I of course took her to one side and did Reiki on her, the pain subsided and she stopped crying, 15 minutes later she was back playing, the following morning I asked to check the graze and to my amazement it had gone, now both me and my older son saw the graze the day before and both looked at each other quite shocked, I even checked the other side in case I got it wrong, now don’t ask me what happened because I don’t know, all I do know is it was gone.
Another account from a friend that sticks in my mind was a women in her early forties, had healing for aches and pains, nothing major but was making her feel uncomfortable.
I do tend to notice how much energy is being sent to each individual whether it’s a trickle or more and in this case it seemed to be more than I would of expected for a few aches and pains, so I did the right thing of saying I felt a visit to a doctor just for a quick check over to see if anything else was causing the aches and pains and left it at that, two days later she called me and confided in me interesting outcome.
She told me that for years she had been having a regular monthly injection as a contraceptive, I’m not sure what it is but one effect of it is it stop the female monthly cycle completely, she told me the following morning after healing that for the first time in 15 years she started her monthly cycle again and was taken by surprise, what this tells me is healing can work on many levels and even explains the extra energy I was aware of that night, stopping the monthly cycle is not natural and although we have the ability to stop it, healing somehow has the ability to correct it, ok it was a downside to the healing in this case, but is doesn’t stop her from coming for healing but now tends to make the session just before the injection is due.
I believe everybody should receive healing on a regular basis and if this was the case we would see a big improvement in the nation as a whole, so my task here is to ask all healers to promote yourselves more, make more people aware what you do, to people that have had healing make it a regular event for yourself, and to those that have never had healing, find somewhere or someone to work with, your will never regret the move to do so.

Astrology and the Jupiter Retrograde
If you thought my previous description of the effects of Mercury
retrograde was dire, then you need to get a load of what happens
when Jupiter, a much larger and more influential planet, decides to
do the same and troll backwards in the sky.
Jupiter is one of the most potent planets in the solar system,
typically ruling health, wealth, generosity, kindness and anything
that is big, welcome and good in our lives.
Unfortunately, this lordly planet decides to go retrograde
(appear to move backwards through the sky) for about three months
every year.
When this planet moves backwards the more unpleasant aspects of the
human condition are often emphasized including selfishness, greed,
fanaticism, over-indulgence and war. On a mass scale a
backwards-swinging Jupiter can mean regression to barbarism and
torture. On a personal level it can mean a swelling waistline or a
shrinking waistline. To sum it up, a retrograde Jupiter mostly
means pain, suffering and exploitation of some kind especially for
the sign it is in.
Jupiter, which rules political, religious and financial matter
experienced a retrograde phase in 2006 from March 6th to July 6th.
This was in the sometimes very nasty sign of Scorpio making
revenge, torture and war the focus of this particular phase.
During this type of Jupiter retrograde, morals appear to be lacking
altogether or people are subjected to a religious dominance that is
too orthodox and strict. Typical of the fanaticism signified by a
Jupiter Retrograde in Scorpio would be the religious wars taking
place in the Middle East.
Jupiter rules our potential for growth and expansion on many
levels: physical, intellectual, spiritual and cultural, along with
the accumulation of material assets, power and status. This is also
a planet that rules our optimism and highest ideals (including our
religious beliefs and faith) as well as publishing and higher
education.
Jupiter is also symbolic of the bold and merry fool so he also
rules speculation, adventure and gambling. It is probably likely
that the casinos cleaned up during March, April, May and June of
2006 as the Jupiter retrograde would not have favoured the luck of
the gambler but rather the luck of the house.
This massive planet spends about a year in each sign, taking twelve years to complete the journey through all twelve signs. He turns retrograde once a year for 120 days, being stationary for some 10 days.
In 2011 the retrogrades will take place from August 30, 2011 until December 25, 2011 in Taurus.
Rethink philosophical challenges and religious activities. Engage in philanthropic work. Reevaluate previous beliefs, legal matters, and management policies. Faith in government, education, experts and law is questioned. Folks born with Jupiter retrograde make great travel agents who prefer to stay home, and great sports coaches who don't play the game.
Jupiter retrograde is more spiritual and philosophical so it is a time to explore philosophies, possibly something simpler from a time in your past. According to Delphine Jay, this period may produce an event that reminds you of a time when you had a better perspective on life. She furthermore feels that it is an excellent time to complete Jupitarian projects such as going back to school to complete your education, taking a long distance trip that you have postponed, and making a connection with a long lost friendship. It is a good time to take spiritual or philosophical courses with the objective of gaining a better perspective on life.

Mercury Retrograde
Welcome to the first in a series of articles devoted to the more
eclectic side of astrology.
In this unusual series (which is a little more than a primer in
astrology and a little less then a PhD in the subject!), we are
going to discuss those things that you have always wondered about
astrology in general and also clarify some of the things you will
find in your own chart.
We will also be explaining some synastry (relationship astrology)
as well a look at some celebrity charts.
Perhaps one astrology term you've been hearing a lot about lately
is Mercury Retrograde. These retrogrades, which cause the planet of
communication to move backwards through the sky last three to four
weeks and occur three to four times a year. This bodes a time when
everything seems to be a case of "too little too late" or "too much
too soon."
Delays, computer problems, broken promises and relationship problems
are also typical of Mercury retrograde periods. Problems with
transportation and missing crucial bits of information that prevent
you from achieving an understanding or "moving forward" are also
typical during a mercury retrograde period.
A planet can described as retrograde when it appears to be moving
backwards through the zodiac. Of course this is an illusion ...
actually the earth is rotating causing the planets to seem to be
moving backwards n the sky. Planets are never actually retrograde
or stationary, they just seem that way, due to this optical
illusion.
Retrograde periods, although often problematic for mere mortals,
are not particularly uncommon. Each planet retrogrades, except the
Sun and Moon. In general when a planet is retrograde, it seems that
inevitable fated events may take place causing us to feel like we
are not in control in life.
A retrograde period is best perceived as a cycle that consists of
three stations. The motion is like a pendulum swinging with a start
backward, a stop and a start forward and a stop again.
A station is when the planet appears to be motionless in the sky.
The first station occurs when the planet begins to slow to a halt
before appearing to travel backwards through the zodiac. The second
station occurs when the planet slows down while moving backwards
and appears to stop before moving forward again. The third station
occurs when the planet returns to the point where it first paused
(made a station.). The negative energy of the planet's retrograde
is most powerful while the planet is stationary and more likely to
generate critical or disastrous results.
Mercury retrogrades can be very uncomfortable as they affect
thinking, perception, communication, commerce and transportation.
People who work with their minds or their wits including writers,
commentators and media types are particularly personally affected
by mercury retrogrades. The base functionality of telephones and
computers are often affected, as is reception for radios and
televisions. Cable television that is installed during Mercury
retrograde is likely to be fuzzy for a lifetime.
Mercury retrogrades also have a terrible "slowing down" effect on
freelancers who often find their "check is in the mail" and also on
doctors who have problems taking good x-rays or locating blood
tests. Projects started during mercury retrograde often have to be
done over again.
Mercury retrogrades make our lives such hell that we can hardly
wait for them to be over. Still even though most mercury
retrogrades last two to four weeks, they are also accompanied by
what is called the "retrograde shadow." The retrograde "Mercury
shadow" begins about three weeks before the actual retro station
and some three weeks after direct station.
Mercury retrograde, like any planetary aspect, affects people
differently, depending on where it hits their personal charts. Some
people actually prosper under a retro Mercury, especially if they
were born with a Mercury retrograde in their birth chart. For
instance if you have Mercury retrograde in your Tenth House (house
of career) at birth you could be cleaning up financially while your
friend with Mercury direct in the tenth house loses all his
business to you!
However one thing to remember that often projects begun during a
retro mercury period will not come to fruition or completion until
the next retro Mercury station occurs.
In general it is wise not to make any big moves - sign big
contracts, buy or rent a house, purchase appliance or computer
equipment or propose marriage during a retrograde Mercury period.
As mental facilities are also dimmed by this influence it is also
not a good time to take a test.
Think the Mercury retrograde is a big deal! It's nothing compared
to the effects of a Jupiter retrograde. In next week's article
we will discuss what happens when the planet of wealth and
generosity moves backwards in the sky ...

Is there life after you die?
I was asked this question on another site and felt compelled to answer with the following.
The easy answer is yes.
But there is far more to it, I probably could write an entire chapter on it and maybe one day I will but for now let me try to explain.
Firstly my spiritual journey goes back to childhood and developed over the last 30 years to include studying everything I could get my hands on.
Some of my experiences defy belief but put it all together like most people you develop your own opinions and beliefs.
Even with all this learning and experiences I had encountered, some years ago I spent 2 years by myself and totally immersed in studying and practicing all kinds of psychic, earth based and spiritual disciplines and had spirit around me all the time, from them I learnt a lot, including who we are and what we become, although this is not the general held belief, this is my experience and how it was shown and told to me.
As humans we can only really imagine things from a human point of view which is why we imagine god as a person, or at least an image of a man with a white beard and we imagine those who have passed to be as they were when they still lived, in fact many mediums will say they can see and describe this person to you.
In many ways they can because this is how the images and information is passed to many mediums, I myself saw many people in spirit including spirit guides and animals.
But the truth is, this is not how they actually are and simply by asking I was shown many things one of them was to change my view and understanding of the spirit world or upper realms as I prefer to call them.
As I have said I had spirit around me most of the time and one particular day I was sitting in the garden in the sun and had dozed off, I was awaken by the sense of someone walking passed me, thinking a friend had turned up I got up and went into the house to see who it was, there was no one there, although that said I could sense spirit people around, I boiled the kettle and sat back down, and was aware of someone quite near me and just casually asked a question (I did this regularly anyway) the question was how do you really look, slowly in front of me a bright speck of light appeared, now you have to remember it’s a bright sunny day yet I could plainly make this out, it got brighter until it formed what can only be described as a bright mini star,.
This totally amazed me but put everything into context, we were in the beginning pure energy and will go back to the energy source as energy, the soul to me is this energy spark, this individual consciousness that make each of us who we are, they prefer to show themselves to us as who we remember them to be, because after all we are only human.

The secret life of plants
Every now and again I see something that inspires me to write and today is no exception.
Now I don’t know about you but all my private paper work and bank details I usually shred but a few months back my shredder busted, now I fill up a small garden incinerator and set light to it, after a day of sorting paperwork the incinerator was full so I went out to set light to it, this has been the first time for about a month as I have been really busy the garden has also taken it’s own course and is now overgrown.
But something struck me as I watched the flames take hold and burn away all that information, the patch around the incinerator has no weeds or plants growing, why?
How do they know not to grow near the burner? It’s not that it gets that hot and it’s been a month so logic tells me I should have had to fight my way to the rusty metal bin, do the plants have a way of knowing not to grow there? Is it instinct? Have they had a previous experience of the burner? Have the other plants told them what might happen?
As children we all have little fear and as we grow and experience our own shortcomings we learn not to repeat these actions, children have little fear when they climb all over the armchairs and stand on the arms saying “Look at me” but when they fall they become more weary it doing it, I remember my son when he was small he used to walk along in front of the fire and put his hand out above the metal casing and look at me, I would say “Hot” and he would move away, he didn’t really understand hot, he may of felt the warmth from the fire as he hovered his hand over the top but that may have been his experience of hot up to that point.
One day he did this and I said “Hot” he turned back and touched it, his hand recoiled and in shock ran over to me, hugging him I said “There hot” he never did it again.
It’s by experience of our own action that we learn rather than what others may tell us, we can only guess sometimes what others are trying to tell us when they talk of their own spiritual experiences, the only bench mark we have is our own.
As for the bare patch around the burner, I’d like to think that even the lowly weed has the instinct to survive and just ‘knows’ not to grow there.

Traditional Birthstones for Each Month
You might think that birthstones are only associated with the
Zodiac signs. This is not exactly true. They are also associated
with what month you are born in. The origin of the twelve monthly
birthstones was thought to have originated in Bible as they were
found on the breastplates of Aaron.
Yet another difference between the monthly and the Zodiac stones is
that the monthly stones have more a numerological association
whereas the Zodiac stones relate more to astrology.
January - The garnet is named as the January birth stone in just
about every tradition or culture The glittering red garnet is the
stone representing January in Hebrew, Roman, Arabic, Polish and
Russian traditions. In the ancient Hindu tradition the stone for
January was the serpent stone, but this is not a stone that has been
seen by anyone. Chances are it was a ruby or a black stone.
February - The symbolic stone is agreed upon as being the amethyst
according to North American, Hebrew, Roman, Arabic, Polish and
Russian traditions. In ancient Hindu it was the chandrakankta
which once again is a stone nobody living today has ever seen so
it cannot be described.
March - Modern North America culture names the aquamarine as the
stone for this month. However in Hebrew, Roman, Arabic, Polish and
Russian traditions the stone for this stormy month is the
bloodstone. In the ancient Hindu tradition it was a stone called
gold-sivalinga which once again is not a stone ever seen by
contemporary eyes.
April - North American culture names the diamond as the birth stone
for April. In Jewish, Hindu and Polish cultures the diamond is also
named as the April birthstone. However in Roma, Persian and
Russian traditions, the stone that has symbolized the month is
sapphire.
May - In contemporary North American, Arabic, Hindu, Polish and
Russian traditions, the birthstone for the month of May is emerald.
However the Hebrew and Roman traditions say the month belongs to
the agate.
June - June is one of those months that seem to be symbolized by an
array of stones. Contemporary North American culture names the
stone of the month to be moonstone, pearl or alexandrite. Ancient
Hindu tradition also names the pearl as the birthstone for June.
However in ancient Roman and Hebrew traditions June was ruled by
the emerald (possibly because the green represented summer.) In
Russian, Polish and Arabic cultures the stone that rules this month
is agate, which to make things even more confusing is a striped
stone comes in many colors.
July- In North American, Polish and Russian culture the birthstone
for this mid summer month is ruby. In Hebrew and Roman traditions
it is onyx. The Arabic culture assigns the carnelian to July and
the Hindu religion says a sapphire represents this month.
August - Many different stones are often said to belong to the
month of August. The modern North American tradition says the month
is symbolized by peridot. The Hebrew and Roman traditions attribute
it to the carnelian. The Arabic and Polish traditions say the month
belongs to the sardonyx. The Hindu tradition assigns August the
ruby and the Russian tradition assigns it the alexandrite.
September - In modern North American traditions, this autumn month
is said to be ruled by the sapphire. However in Hebrew, Roman,
Arabic, Polish and Russian traditions peridot is given as the
ruling stone. The Hindu tradition assigns the zircon to September.
October - The opal or the tourmaline is usually assigned to
October. However Hebrew, Roman, Arabic and Polish birth gem stone
traditions say that aquamarine is the symbolic stone. The Russian
culture says the month is ruled by the beryl. Ancient Hindu
tradition says the stone is coral.
November - The North American tradition assigns either yellow topaz
or citrine as the gemstones for this month. The Hebrew, Roman,
Arabic and Russian traditions also say it belongs to topaz.
November is symbolized by the cat's eye in the Hindu culture.
December - The North American tradition says December is symbolized
by three choices of three blue stones: tanzanite, turquoise or blue
topaz. The Hindu religion also assigns it to topaz, and the Russian
and Polish traditions assign it to turquoise. The Arabic, Roman and
Hebrew traditions say the rosy colored ruby rules this month.
This is interesting because very often your choice of a Zodiac
stone will conflict with what is the birth month stone. Some of
the stones also cross over to astrology. For instance if you are
born in November the symbolic stone is topaz and if you are a
Sagittarian born after the 23rd then your stone will be at topaz as
well.

Keep an open mind
Even at the age of six I remember some of, what at the time seemed like dreams but looking back on it was actually happening around me.
As I got older more started to happen and even to a point of frightening me, not because it was nasty but because I didn’t understand at the time what was going on.
Most of what goes on around us or seen by clairvoyants like me is explainable with science fact, actually science and reality is far stranger than you think.
Let me explain;
Most of what I have seen can be put down to one major factor, (no, not that I am mad) energy, unseen energy all around us, it exists and has been proven in many ways.
All living things have an electro magnetic field around them also known as an aura but this field although weaker is everywhere and around everything not just living matter.
Anyone that has hear of feng shui will know this is the art of making ‘chi’ energy flow in the right directions a bit like water in a brook, if there is a stone in the water, the water will eddy around it, energy as in feng shui reacts the same and reacts differently with different materials such as wood, fabric, metal and so on.
As a rule this energy although subtle can be seen with a heightened awareness and can be seen eddying around object that they encounter, ok with me so far, now if you put a ball in a wind tunnel and turn on the smoke the smoke will find it’s way around the ball creating an eddy of it’s own, but what if the ball was invisible? Would that change, no because the obstruction is still there….. this is what I see when something or someone steps into the energy not a person but an outline of a person and not always a person shape the most common it in fact a ball or just a random eddy of the energy for what seems no apparent reason, if you look at some of the pictures on this page what I see as random energy looks exactly like that seen in the pictures, orbs on the other hand are fast moving specks or intense light not ball shaped, although this could be the surrounding energy field caught in a cameras flash.
One thing to remember, this is my views based on my experiences and what I myself have encountered.
A lot of this is subjective because I can’t prove it but lets look at the reality of things next,
Over the last 25 years at least I have researched and studied many things from metaphysics, psychics, atomic structure, psychics, feng shui, reiki and spiritualism as well and read numerous books an articles.
I have tried a lot of things to with differing results which in a way gives me the grounding to be a skeptic as well as a psychic, always looking for a reasonable explanation if I can.
On the subject of atomics put simply and at a risk of boring a few readers here I will keep it brief in this article;
Everything is made of atoms, not seen by the naked eye but are there, we can’t see them but they have been proven and seen, everything form the chair you are sitting on now to the cushions on the sofa the only difference is the way the atoms react with each other and more importantly the spacing between them, this can make an object either hard or soft or red or clear like glass and the other thing is they all have a frequency or vibration of their own, in fact nothing is actually solid, it all vibrates and moves it just we can't see it, as does energy around us, that higher awareness I was talking about earlier in theory if you can find the frequency of any given object and vibrate at the same rate then the theory is you will see right through it…….
On the other hand if something you can’t see has a vibration of it’s own frequency then it is logical that if you can raise your awareness to it’s vibration then you will sense it’s presence or even see it, this is how a medium works by raising their vibration to a level higher than their own.
Psychics tend to work on a lower vibration of the human aura where we store all our experiences and memories.
All science theories start out as ideas which had to be proved but one thing that will surprise you is there are many scientists that have a large interest in all things spiritual and continue to try to prove the existence of those things yet to be explained.
Always keep an open mind but don’t assume that something is unexplained, it is only by looking at what can be explained that we can see the real side of the spirit world and our own god given psychic abilities that we all have and is our legacy from the past.

Eye test
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...
WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !
Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.
The brain cannot process 'OF'.
Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 'F's' on the first go is a genius.

The time has come
They say things only happen when you are ready and this I truely believe.
Looking back over the years you can start to see the pattern of your life and how it has turned out, was it what you hoped it would be?, did the things happen that you wanted to happen or was it completely different to what you thought?
Everything that happens has a reason, no matter what is was or is, and I always look for the reason.
Sometimes it's not always clear or easy especially if your going through a bad patch in your life or a stressfull situation.
The way I look at it is you can't see the calm when your in the eye of the storm, so wait for the dust to settle then look back and learn from the situation of what has happened.
Sometimes the same things happens over and over again and you may feel your trapped in a never ending story that you can't seem to get out of, well you can, but forst you have to work out what it is your not learning from, only by learning from an experience do you change it.

Your personal journey
I have titled this post as such because we all have a slightly different path in this life to follow and at the end of the day even though we share experiences here and with friends, how we experience things in this life is a very personal thing.
Some people could be forgiven for thinking that because that the future is going to happen anyway that they themselves haven’t got much to do. This is not really the case, let me give an example.
What is awareness?
Down the road someone opens a new shop, then a few days later you walk past it, now just by walking past the shop you have seen it or you may of, in fact missed it because you were thinking about something and you just didn’t see it. Either way the shop is still there whether you saw it or not, the shop exists.
If you didn’t see it then you are not aware it exists. If it closed tomorrow you would be none the wiser as you never saw it in the first place.
The following day you walk past it again, this time you do see it and in fact go in and look around so now not only are you aware the shop exists but now you know what it sells. The difference between being aware or unaware is that simple. The act of being aware of something alone will cause a reaction. Being actively aware means doing something about it, like going into the shop.
Very little is required of you but the following will give you a good start.
Belief: You need to not only believe in yourself but in what you do, your are in your own right an amazing magical being, and are capable of many things.
Intent: Whether it is healing or anything else you do your intention is key, whatever you intend to do will happen, your intention is a powerful tool.
Commitment: Follow through on everything you do, research, read, ask questions, only by doing so can you expand your knowledge and make informed choices and decisions.
By being aware you see more of the whole picture.

Hi folks, I'm Back
It's been a while but now I feel it's time to pick up where I left off.
But firstly I must thank everyone that sent e-mails and who left comments on the blog while I've been away.
And also to Angeleyes, my wife, for her support and strength during the past months.
Got loads to tell and lots to do so welcome back to Scruffyhippo Blog...........
How often have you put off doing what you really want to do, maybe it's the money or lack of it, or not enough time, maybe you have said maybe next week or next month or even next year, what it is the you are yearning to do or achieve, then do it, live has a way of making you take stock of where you are and what you are doing, even heart attacks have reasons beyond the health implications, think about it, what is it you really want to do but never seem to get around to?

Anouncement
Hi everyone, you may of notice little being posted at the moment and have some bad news for readers of Scruffyhippo's blog.
Scruffyhippo was taken into hospital last week suffering with a heart attack and it has taken us all by surprise as he was always busy and very active with a lot of time for everyone.
He is now stable and is due back out today but he has already told me that he will be absent from the internet for a time while he recovers.
I will myself be checking for comments, but in the mean time have opened the comments for the regulars, if you have already left comments in the last week and they have not yet been added, bear with me as I am myself quite new to this and end up having to ask Scruffyhippo dozens of questions.

What's it like to be psychic, Part 4
To start this series of articles from the beginning go to Part 1
So far we have talked about some basics about the psychic world and in a way hopefully made it sound quite simple, well really it is, I believe we are all psychic, or at least have the potential to use out psychic side.
You just need to be shown how, it’s a bit like getting something for the first time and again I will use the computer as an example.
Not long back I updated my paint shop programme to version 8 from version 4, now I got it from someone that no longer needed it and as always the books were not part of what I was given, I loaded the programme and it asked me ‘did I want to over write the existing version’ I clicked yes.
When I opened it for the first time there was very little I recognised, it had completely changed, so over the next few days I had to play around with it and learn how things worked (and what didn’t) I was frustrating to try and do things when your not sure how to do it, but when you get the hang of it you end up really pleased with yourself and impressed when you discover new applications it can do and how easy other thing are that used to take ages.
So it’s the same with what ever we do, if you learn how something works and your own limitations, then it gets easier, once you know how to ’switch on’ or use your psychic application then doing actual psychic ‘stuff’ is just a matter of practice, it really is that easy.
Working with your psychic side has certain aspects attached to it that make it work, and understanding these principles helps you understand what is going on when you switch on or tune in, and our energy field plays a great part in that, the aura.
Here is another exercise you can try but you may need at least three other participants,
Sit in a chair facing away from the other volunteers and ask one of them to stand behind you and lightly lay their hand s on your shoulders, ask them not to speak so you have no idea which one it is standing there behind you, then with your eyes closed just say the first things that come to mind, you may get images flashing through your head or feelings that don’t seem to be yours, you may sense names, places objects or colours, just go with it relax and say the first things that you are experiencing, don’t think about it, because once your mind kicks in you will lose the intuitive flow.
After a while you can try to guess who is behind you, you may just ‘know, it’s a women and has fair hair, and that is fine, now see if your are right, and ask the person that was standing there for some feedback and if anything you said made sense to them, again it doesn’t matter if it sound like garbage to you, it’s not for you, as long as the person standing behind you understands what you have said then you have succeeded.
Look out for Part 5scruffyhippo

What is it like to be psychic? Part 3
To start this series of articles from the beginning go to Part 1
Being psychic, doesn’t necessarily mean, you do readings for people, there is far more to it than just that, readings are a tiny part, or an offshoot if you prefer.
Psychometry is another aspect of psychic work, although not all psychics do this, it’s useful for readings, but can also enlighten an owner of a ring for instance as to the previous owners, I do what I call 'House Psychometry', where I will go to a house that I have no knowledge of and describe the changes taken place over the years to the fabric of the building or even what was there before it, this works in conjunction with residual or retentive energies, (I touched on this in Part 1) that is the energy retained by an object or building, by touching the walls of the house etc, you get a better connection with it, I have been lucky enough to do this at Stonehenge and touch the stones without to many people around, I learnt who built it and why, and it seems all the experts are telling us all the wrong history of the place, this will be the subject of a article I will be writing in the future as it will cause a bit of an uproar.
Pre-cognition, is something that comes across as something many people experience and don’t really know what it is. Pre-cognition is the ability to see future events before they happen, I have had dozens of e-mails on this subject from people that have experienced this for the first time, so I will explain what is here, I do experience this but only a few seconds before the event, a bit like déjà vu, the sense that your are experiencing something that has happened before, but pre-cognition is the other way round, you get a sense of something about to happen then it does, I get this if I drive to fast then I see cars pulling out of turnings just before they actually do, this is not a conscious effort but more of an inbuilt safety device, and to an extent after thinking about it many people agree they have also experienced this too.
But Pre-cognition can happen hours, days or even weeks and months before an event actually occurs, and some have seen disasters unfold long before they happen.
To many it’s frightening to say the least, to some a useful predictive tool to plan the future, as some only have these visions about their own circumstances.
There’s not much you can do if you have these experiences, if you start telling people you think the number 190 bus is going to crash into the river on Tuesday, most will be looking at restraining white jackets for a while, although well known psychics that can use and control this form of visions can use it to help others.
As I have said I don’t really get this much, so find it hard to explain in depth, those I have had contact with that do tell me it was the first thing they have ever done and from there learnt about other aspects of psychic mechanics.
Many people of wealth have offered money for a psychic to prove what they can do, but they think every psychic is the same and talk about psi-power and telekinesis, which is another subject completely…….

What is it like to be psychic? Part 2
If you haven't read Part 1 then read that first, otherwise this will make little sense.
What is it like to be psychic? Part 2
So how does a psychic hit the switch? You may very well of seen psychics on TV or even at live events and many work differently, some close their eyes to switch on some don’t, I actually look straight in the eyes of a recipient and connect that way.
You computer does far more than you think and sometimes all it needs is enabling and you have a new programme or application you never thought you had, some applications require additional software to switch it on, and the psychic side of all of us is the same, it’s there, we just have to find our ‘switch’ or the added software to enable our switch, in my case, as I have said, I work with the eyes but work far easier using images such as cards.
There are many parts to the psychic side of all of us, many you can try at home, but not all psychic are good at all aspects, I’m terrible at psychometric detection, or psychometry, which is working out what a hidden object is in a box, although pictures in a sealed envelope I’m ok with, I can pick up on the energy of, say someone’s ring they wear and tell you about that person, I can also do house psychometry, that is pick up on the past energy in a house and what it looked like before and who lived or died there.
Psychometry is something you can try, get a friend to put an object in a box or in a bag and before you are given it, sit for a while and clear you mind, ask your friend to hand you the box and as you handle it give out your first impressions, don’t think about it, because as soon as you do, your mind gets in the way and you will get it wrong, just first impressions, then you will be more likely correct, or try a picture in a n envelope, don’t use really detailed one’s to start with, keep it simple, then you will surprised with the results.
Going with your first impressions is the main key to any psychic practice, and believing it, I have had many people say to me “it’s just my imagination” but look at it this way, your brain is also your operating system same as XP windows, your imagination is part of that system and acts a bit like a browser, it can retrieve stored data to your screen (memories) and it can show you web pages (communication from the outside world), it can download other programmes (learning new things) and it can help you write your blog page (conversation and recalling memories to others) where else would any stored data or communications come from? Your imagination is an important tool without it your brain can’t work on a human level, without you browser you computer is next to useless……….

What is it like to be psychic? Part 1
What is it like to be psychic?
Well before I can answer that question, first I should try to explain what psychic is….
Like a lot of words, the meanings get twisted and changed about by different people and different countries, everyone has there own idea what something is or what something means, so I think first we need to set the record straight.
I could look up the meaning in the wiki pages but all I end up doing is using someone else’s words, so here goes; psychic is nothing spooky, we all have the built in hardware and software to use our psychic ability, it’s similar to our intuitive level, slightly more tuned but the same, we all use our intuition every day women more so than men, that’s because the female intuition is better tuned than the male counter part.
Intuition is where you use that gut feeling to act upon something, either that you ‘know’ is right or that you ‘know’ to be wrong, we’ve all used it or even acted against it and regretted it afterwards, many psychics work on what is known as a clairsentient level, that is ‘to feel or sense’ again intuitively, I work on what is known as a clairvoyant level, that is ‘to see’, in other words I get images, symbols and pictures in my head, so for instance I could look at someone and ‘see’ a blue stone set ring, that could mean a few things and this is where the hard bit comes in is the interpretation of what you get, it could mean they have just been given or bought a ring like that, it could mean they have lost a ring like that or it could mean none of the above and they have just painted their front room blue, so now I hear you asking, where do the images come from, ok this is a tricky one because no one really knows (although they may say they do) but my understanding of it is this; some years back (about 20 years in fact) I used to record a lot of music on cassette tapes (you remember those) and up to a few years back still had them, when I played them back after many years the data on them had faded and the music was not very clear.
You record everything you do and what you think, say or even dream, you record it into your electro magnetic field better known as your aura, it’s all there from birth, although the older memories and thoughts and feelings are harder to pick up on as the energy holding them fades although always there, a bit like the cassette tapes.
What a psychic does in act as the tape player and plugs in to those energy signals, which is why the more recent ones normally come out in psychic readings and intuitive card readings, to get deeper requires time and can even be done at a distance without knowing a thing about the person, you may of heard of something called retentive energies on so called TV programmes dealing with the subject of hauntings or mediums, this is actually true, buildings have an electro magnetic field as does every other living and material thing in existence, so even the house you live in retains some of your emotions, be it love or anger................

New Home Coming
Well after much heart searching and deliberation, I have decided to move this blog, so in the near future Scruffyhippo's Blog will be on Wordpress with a new look.
Since I re-done the main website I really wanted to have the blog looking the same but with blogger that's impossible and I am now learning how to create a wordpress theme from scratch.
It should be no big deal as I have learnt my basic php coding on phpbb forums and created the website theme based on the forums, the pictures below will give you an idea what the blog will look like once it's all done, a cleaner and brighter look.
This is the current Home page
This is the forums theme
In the mean time I will still be posting here so keep an eye out for more unique articlesscruffyhippo
